He represents commercial lenders and developers in all phases of purchasing, developing and constructing various types of real estate projects with an emphasis on retail and multi-family projects.
A significant portion of Charlie’s practice is also concentrated in the representation of special servicers, special assets departments and financial institutions in regulatory and transactional matters. These matters include documenting large commercial loans, structuring loan workouts, conducting foreclosures and disposing of distressed assets and foreclosed assets.

VNM Memphis, LLC We obtained an emergency receivership of this franchised hotel and successfully transitioned the hotel to a receiver with hospitality experience without losing the flag. Acquisition of Defaulted Real Estate Loans Represented distressed asset investor in acquisition of over $10 million in defaulted real estate loans. Acquisition of Real Estate Secured Loans Represented investors in distressed debt in acquiring loans secured by office building and shopping center in multiple jurisdictions. Complex Foreclosure Transaction Represented secured creditors in foreclosing on complex residential and commercial condominium project involving syndicated loans, discounted payoff transactions, and dealing with foreclosure transactions. Discounted Payoff Negotiations and Resource Liability Representation Represented borrowers and special servicers in transactions involving discounted payoff negotiations and recourse liability issues.
