Bradley’s Courtney M. Achee Appointed IAPP KnowledgeNet Chapter Chair
Bradley is pleased to announce that Courtney M. Achee, an attorney in the firm’s Charlotte office, has been appointed to a two-year term as chair of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) KnowledgeNet Charlotte Chapter.
The IAPP’s KnowledgeNet Chapters bring local privacy communities together through educational meetings and networking activities. As a chair of the Charlotte KnowledgeNet Chapter, Ms. Achee will be responsible for organizing events, guiding and engaging with other chapter volunteers and members, and serving as an advocate for the IAPP in Charlotte.
Ms. Achee is a member of Bradley’s Cybersecurity and Privacy and Banking and Financial Services practice groups and holds a Certified Information Privacy Professionals (CIPP/US) credential through the IAPP. She assists clients with a wide variety of privacy compliance needs, providing strategic advice on compliance obligations under federal statutes and regulations, state privacy and data security laws, global data protections laws, as well as industry standards including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, GLBA, FCRA, FACTA, CAN-SPAM, UDAP/UDAAP, and NAIC Model Laws and Regulations. Ms. Achee has developed a practice that focuses on nuanced issues that arise under consumer-facing privacy laws in the financial, insurance, and digital marketing space. She also regularly assists clients with implementing direct marketing compliance programs involving the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and its implementing regulations. Ms. Achee’s practice also encompasses data incident and breach response advice and coaching, including for federally regulated banking institutions under the Interagency Guidelines and the OCC’s Computer-Security Incident Notification Rule.
