Anne Yuengert Featured in BBJ Top Birmingham Women Q&A
Birmingham Business Journal
Bradley attorney Anne Yuengert was featured in a Q&A as one of the Birmingham Business Journal’s Top Birmingham Women for 2024.
BBJ: What keeps you in Birmingham?
Yuengert: It is an easy place to live and work. My commute to everything (both work and play) is short. Even though I did not grow up in Alabama, I feel like Birmingham has welcomed me.
Have you had a pivotal moment that has shaped your career?
Early in my career, one of my partners told me “I can’t always be the smartest person in the room, but I can be the most prepared.” That has helped me focus on what I can control and do that the best I can.
What challenges have you overcome?
I started practicing law at a time when there were not a ton of women in private firms. Fortunately, I worked with people who were invested in my success and helped me when I ran into bumps in the road.
What would you do differently if you had to do it again?
I would do a better job of keeping in touch with my college and law school friends.
What can Birmingham businesses do to make the economy more inclusive for women in the workplace?
Affordable childcare near where people work – and with back up for when children are sick.
