Bradley Attorneys Elected to Leadership Roles with Birmingham Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section

Bradley is pleased to announce that three of the firm’s attorneys have been elected to serve in leadership roles with the Birmingham Bar Association (BBA) Young Lawyers Section (YLS) for the 2025 term.

Birmingham associate Carmen E. Weite, who previously served as vice president of public service for two terms, was elected secretary-treasurer of the YLS. Mason Kruse and Riley McDaniel were reappointed as members of the YLS Executive Committee. Randi McCoy, a licensed attorney and practice manager at Bradley, was also elected to another term on the committee. All four will serve one-year terms effective January 1, 2025.

The BBA, which has 3,300 members in the greater Birmingham area, facilitates numerous continuing legal education (CLE) programs and offers numerous professional development activities and social events for its membership. The YLS is for bar members who are 36 years old or younger or those in practice for five years or less. The section regularly hosts CLEs, fundraisers and other events that benefit younger members of the legal profession.

Ms. Weite litigates a variety of civil and commercial disputes including business torts, breach of contract, employment-related matters, environmental law, insurance coverage and product liability. She was recently selected for the Alabama State Bar Leadership Forum Class 19. Ms. Weite has served as a member of the BBA’s Young Lawyers Section Executive Committee since 2020 and participated in the 2023 Future Leaders Forum. She received her J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University and received her B.S. from the University of Florida.

Mr. Kruse is a member of Bradley’s Litigation Practice Group, as well as the Cannabis Industry team. He is a frequent author on topics impacting the cannabis industry, including litigation and licensing, particularly as medical marijuana has become legalized in Alabama and Mississippi. Mr. Kruse earned his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and received his B.A. from the University of Alabama.

Mr. McDaniel focuses his practice on high-stakes and appellate litigation and has litigated a range of commercial, pharmaceutical, product liability and healthcare matters. He regularly assists clients with legal strategy, motion practice and appeals and maintains an active pro bono practice. Mr. McDaniel is a member of the Alabama State and Birmingham Bar Associations, as well as the DRI. Mr. McDaniel earned his J.D. from Emory University School of Law and received his B.A. from Auburn University.
