As chair of Bradley's Intellectual Property Practice Group, Jeff Dyess is a litigation partner with over two decades of experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants in the areas of intellectual property, competitive practice, trade secret and complex commercial disputes. His practice combines an active intellectual property litigation practice with almost two decades of experience in commercial litigation.

An experienced IP and commercial litigator and registered patent attorney, Jeff devotes a significant amount of his practice to patent, intellectual property and trade secret litigation matters. His IP litigation experience includes:

  • Patent infringement claims and non-infringement/ invalidity/non-enforceability counterclaims
  • Theft of trade secret claims
  • Enforcement of sensitive and management employee non-compete agreements
  • Software, architectural plan/rendering and artwork reproduction copyright infringement claims
  • Trademark infringement claims for national periodical publishers
  • Intellectual property claims for emergency injunctions

Jeff has litigated intellectual property disputes in state and federal courts across the United States, including in Alabama, California, Delaware, Florida, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Wisconsin. He also has patent litigation experience before the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in Alabama, as well as the United States Courts of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit and the Federal Circuit. In 2002, Jeff was admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
