Prior to taking office as attorney general, Marshall was the district attorney for Marshall County, a post he held for sixteen years. As district attorney, Marshall helped draft and pass the Brody Act—a law that makes it a homicide to kill an unborn child during an attack on the unborn child’s mother. Marshall later became the first prosecutor to secure a death sentence under the Brody Act (in a case where a man murdered his pregnant wife and was charged with the homicide of both her and her unborn child). Five years later, when this landmark case was on appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court, Marshall—now attorney general—had the privilege of defending that conviction.

As attorney general, Marshall has embraced his role as the state’s chief law-enforcement officer and has committed himself to making Alabama a safer place to live. In January 2018, Marshall launched the Initiative on Violent Crime with the mission to “help cities reclaim their streets, restore the rule of law, and . . . see their communities revived.” Since its launch, the initiative has resulted in the arrests of hundreds of violent offenders.

Marshall was recently elected to the executive committee of the Republican Attorneys General Association, a nod to his demonstrated expertise and leadership on a variety of national policy issues including the opioid crisis, illegal immigration, and religious liberty.

Mark Brnovich currently serves as Arizona's 26th Attorney General. He was first inaugurated in 2015, and again in 2019 after winning re-election. Mark has spent most of his professional life serving as a prosecutor at the local, state, and federal levels. Mark met his wife Susan while they both worked as prosecutors for the Maricopa County Attorney's office. Mark worked in the Gang/Repeat Offender Unit and prosecuted many difficult and high profile cases from 1992 to 1998. He then went on to work as an Assistant Attorney General with the Arizona Attorney General's Office from 1998 to 2003, where he developed an expertise in gambling law. Brnovich later went on to serve as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Arizona where he prosecuted public integrity crimes, as well as crimes occurring in Indian Country.

Brnovich has also been a Judge Pro Tem of Maricopa County Superior Court, a Command Staff Judge Advocate in the U.S. Army National Guard, the Director for Constitutional Government at the Goldwater Institute, and the Director of the Arizona Department of Gaming, a law enforcement agency that investigates illegal gambling activity, as well as working with tribal regulators to ensure the integrity of tribal gaming.

Brnovich is known for restoring public confidence in the office of \"Arizona's Top Cop\" and for assembling some of the nation's most talented public servants for his administration. Mark argued at the United States Supreme Court in defense of the \"one-person, one-vote\" principle, was featured on 60 Minutes in defense of capital punishment, and has initiated national public education efforts to combat human sex trafficking.

Brnovich has been recognized by the National Federation of Independent Business as a \"Champion of Small Business.\" and was elected by his bi-partisan colleagues to serve as the Chairman of the Conference of Western Attorneys General.

Leslie Carol Rutledge is the 56th Attorney General of Arkansas. She was sworn into office in 2015 and is the first woman and first Republican in Arkansas history to be elected to the office. She was re-elected to a second term in 2018.

An Arkansas lawyer who has spent her entire career in public service, Rutledge is a former prosecutor, and her law practice focused on administrative law, state and local government and election law.

A seventh generation Arkansan, Rutledge grew up on a cattle farm and attended school at the Southside School District in Independence County. From her mother, an elementary school teacher, and her father, a lawyer and a judge, Rutledge learned the importance of hard work and service.

She graduated from the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. Rutledge is admitted to practice law in Arkansas, Washington D.C. and before the U.S. Supreme Court.

Rutledge began work in the Arkansas Court of Appeals clerking for Judge Josephine Hart, now Associate Justice on the Arkansas Supreme Court. Rutledge served as Deputy Counsel in the Office of Governor Mike Huckabee advising state agencies including: Oil and Gas Commission, Public Service Commission, Insurance Department, Real Estate Commission, Bank Department, and dozens of smaller state agencies and departments. She served as Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Lonoke County handling felony cases and as Attorney for Arkansas's Division of Children and Family Services advocating for the best interest of our most vulnerable.

During her time in Washington, D.C., Rutledge was Deputy Counsel for the Mike Huckabee for President campaign, Deputy Counsel at the National Republican Congressional Committee and Counsel for the Republican National Committee including the 2012 Presidential campaign.

Her service has extended to community organizations including the Junior League, Alpha Delta Pi Alumni, National Rifle Association and Women in Networking in Central Arkansas. Rutledge is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, UALR Bowen School of Law Alumni Board, Federalist Society and Republican National Lawyers Association.

Attorney General Rutledge believes face-to-face conversations lead to real solutions. To make the office more accessible, she hosts Mobile Offices in all 75 counties

Her priorities have included educating Arkansans on consumer protection, internet safety and dating violence; leading efforts to combat the opioid epidemic; supporting military and veteran families; and making the office a top law firm in the state.

Attorney General Becerra previously served 12 terms in Congress as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. William Tong is the 25th Attorney General to serve Connecticut since the office was established in 1897. He took office on January 9, 2019 as the first Asian American elected at the statewide level, in Connecticut.

During his service in the legislature, Tong helped lead passage of landmark legislation, including the Connecticut Second Chance Act, Domestic Violence Restraining Order Act, Lost and Stolen Firearms Act, the Act Protecting Homeowner Rights, and the Act Protecting Schoolchildren.

A Connecticut native, Tong grew up in the Hartford area and attended schools in West Hartford. He graduated from Phillips Academy Andover, Brown University and the University of Chicago Law School. He has practiced law for the last 18 years as a litigator in both state and federal courts, first at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, in New York City and for the past 15 years at Finn Dixon & Herling LLP, in Stamford.

As a prosecutor for the Delaware Department of Justice, Kathy prosecuted scores of domestic violence, sexual assault and homicide cases. She worked with fellow prosecutor Pete Letang, the FBI, New Castle County, and Delaware State Police to identify, arrest and prosecute a serial killer who tortured and murdered five women. This case marked the first time that DNA analysis was admitted into evidence in a Delaware Court.

After years of service in the office, Kathy was named Delaware State Prosecutor and later went on to serve as Chief Deputy Attorney General for the Delaware Department of Justice under Attorney General Charles Oberly. While serving as Chief Deputy Attorney General, Kathy worked with Deputy Attorney General Tom McGonigle and Consumer Advocate Mary McDonough to create the Consumer Fraud Division, giving consumers strong protections against fraud and abuse.

Following her tenure as Chief Deputy, Kathy and former Attorney General Charles Oberly entered private practice together, representing individuals and companies in criminal, regulatory and civil matters.

Kathy returned to the Delaware Department of Justice in 2011 to serve as State Prosecutor under Attorney General Beau Biden and later under Attorney General Matt Denn. Under their leadership, Kathy successfully sought legislation to end mandatory life sentences for people convicted of drug crimes and to restore driving privileges for people with drug convictions to enable them to work. During her tenure, Kathy worked with others to form the Crime Strategies Unit, whose focus is to engage with communities hardest hit by violent crime and blight to solve problems and restore trust. Kathy also worked with police chiefs to formulate Delaware’s model policy for police worn body cameras and secure funds to provide the lifesaving drug Narcan to police agencies statewide.

In January of 2017, Kathy was appointed Chief Administrative Officer of New Castle County by County Executive Matthew Meyer. As the County’s second-in-command, Kathy managed more then 1500 employees and a budget of $284 million. During that time Kathy concurrently served as the County’s Public Safety Director, overseeing the New Castle County Police Department, Paramedics and 911 Communications.

As Delaware’s Attorney General, Kathy Jennings is focused on making Delaware a safer place to live and raise our children, making the justice system fair and equal for everyone, and combating the opioid epidemic.

Attorney General Ashley Moody, a fifth generation Floridian, was born and raised in Plant City, Florida. She attended the University of Florida where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and law degree. She later attended Stetson University College of Law earning a Masters of Law in International Law.

Attorney General Moody began her legal career with the law firm of Holland & Knight where she practiced commercial litigation. In her spare time, she volunteered assisting domestic violence victims seeking protection in court.

She subsequently joined the United States Attorney’s Office prosecuting drug, firearm, and fraud offenses. While a federal prosecutor, General Moody was commended by the DEA for prosecutorial excellence and outstanding initiative in drug law enforcement. She was also recognized by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement for her lead of “Operation Round-Up,” a targeted prosecution of violent and repeat offenders.

In 2006, at the age of thirty-one, Attorney General Moody became the youngest judge in Florida when she was elected Circuit Court Judge of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County. As a judge, she founded the Attorney Ad Litem program recruiting volunteer attorneys to stand in the place of parents who did not appear in court with their children. She also developed a mentoring program for at-risk children within the juvenile delinquency system.

Attorney General Moody served as an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law and on the judicial faculty for Florida’s New Judges College, Advanced Judicial Studies, and the Circuit Judges Conference. She was a frequent lecturer on crime and justice as well as best practices for Florida attorneys. In 2015, Attorney General Moody was recognized by the National Legal Services Corporation for her significant contributions to pro bono legal service and was awarded the Florida Supreme Court’s Distinguished Judicial Service Award.

On January 8, 2019, Attorney General Moody became Florida’s 38th Attorney General. Since taking office as Attorney General, Moody has been recognized as a national leader having been appointed to the Executive Committee of the National Association of Attorneys General and to the Board of Directors for the Rule of Law Defense Fund. General Moody is the Chair of Florida’s Statewide Council on Human Trafficking and was recently appointed by the Governor as Chair of Florida’s Statewide Task Force on Opioid Abuse.

As Attorney General, Carr believes he has no more solemn duty than to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution and laws of the State of Georgia and the interests of the people of the State of Georgia. Since taking office in 2016, Carr has made it a priority to combat opioid misuse, gang violence, human trafficking, elder abuse and consumer fraud. He established and leads the Statewide Opioid Task Force – which now has more than 400 members – and the Georgia Anti-Gang Network – which is focused on strengthening multi-jurisdictional investigations and prosecutions. To help prevent our older, at-risk adults from falling victim to scams, Carr created the Georgia Consumer Protection Guide for Older Adults, and he works every day to make sure older, at-risk adults and all consumers are protected from exploitation in any form. Carr is also a champion for the state’s Sunshine Laws, working each day to ensure that government operates openly and transparently. In 2019, he announced the creation of the state's first-ever Human Trafficking Prosecution Unit at the Department of Law. Under his leadership, the unit will work with statewide partners to aggressively combat buyers and traffickers.

Carr appoints all members of the Georgia Consumer Advisory Board and is a member of the Georgia Board of Homeland Security. He served on Georgia’s Judicial Nominating Commission, the body charged with recommending candidates to the Governor to fill judicial vacancies, from 2011 through 2018, and the Executive Committee for the Georgia Older Adults Cabinet from 2016 - 2018. A dedicated member of the National Association of Attorneys General, Carr currently serves on the Human Trafficking, Substance Abuse and Presidential Initiative Committees (focused on elder abuse in 2017-18 and natural disasters in 2018-19) where he collaborates with his colleagues to shape the association's policies in these respective areas.

Carr previously served as Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD) under Governor Deal from November 2013 to November 2016. As Commissioner, Carr led the state agency responsible for creating jobs and investment in Georgia through business recruitment, retention and expansion, international trade and tourism, as well as the arts, film and music industries. During Carr's three-year tenure at GDEcD, the state of Georgia was recognized as the top state in the nation in which to do business for three consecutive years. In addition, GDEcD helped facilitate 1,069 projects across the state that represent approximately $14.4 billion in investment and the creation of more than 84,000 jobs. In 2015, GDEcD was recognized as the top economic development agency in the country.

Prior to joining GDEcD, Carr was Chief of Staff for U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson for six years. During his time in Washington, Carr advised the Senator on federal legislation, numerous judicial nominees for the U.S. Supreme Court and lower federal courts in Georgia and across the country.

Ms. Connors has varied experience working in both the public and private sectors. Raised in Hawai‘i, she attended Yale College, graduating with honors. She began at the Department of Justice’s Tax Division in Washington, D.C., where she prosecuted complex tax crimes. In 2004, Ms. Connors returned home to become an Assistant U.S. Attorney at the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Hawai‘i. She served there for approximately seven years, where she prosecuted a broad variety of crimes, but specialized in the handling of complex fraud, public corruption and tax matters. For the last seven years, Ms. Connors has worked as a civil litigator and partner with the law firm Davis Levin Livingston, where she has primarily handled commercial disputes, wrongful death actions, medical malpractice claims on behalf of injured persons and other personal injury matters.

Ms. Connors has been active in both the state and federal bar associations. She has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, where she co-taught a course on small businesses and entrepreneurship. In 2015, Ms. Connors was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as a federal district judge for the District of Hawai‘i. Her nomination was awaiting a final vote by the full Senate in 2016, when President Obama left office.

Lawrence Wasden is Idaho’s 32nd Attorney General. He was elected to his fifth term on November 6, 2018, and is the longest serving attorney general in the state’s history.

Mr. Wasden has dedicated most of his professional career to public service. Before serving in the Office of the Attorney General, Mr. Wasden was a deputy prosecuting attorney in Canyon County and the prosecuting attorney in Owyhee County.

Throughout his career, A.G. Wasden has been recognized for his leadership in the legal profession, public health, protecting children and consumers of all ages, prosecuting public corruption cases and promoting open and transparent government.

As Attorney General, Mr. Wasden has framed his leadership of the office around two fundamental principles: The Rule of Law and calling legal “balls and strikes” fairly and squarely.

Mr. Wasden is a past Chairman of the Conference of Western Attorneys General and past President of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG). He currently serves on NAAG’s Mission Foundation. In his role with the Conference of Western Attorneys General, A.G. Wasden has been active in the Alliance Partnership, a program devoted to strengthening and reforming the justice system in Mexico. Since 2006, A.G. Wasden and the Alliance Partnership have led multiple training seminars for Mexican prosecutors, investigators and forensic experts making the transition to an adversarial system of justice.

A.G. Wasden served for more than a decade on the Board of Directors of the American Legacy Foundation, the nonprofit created in the wake of the national tobacco settlement to educate youth and adults on the risks and dangers of smoking. He stepped down as Board Chairman in 2014. Recognizing Mr. Wasden’s service, the foundation donated $350,000 to the University of Idaho College of Law to create a scholar program in his name.

In 2007, Mr. Wasden received “The People First” Award from the Idaho Newspaper Foundation for his work to promote and educate government officials, media and citizens about Idaho’s Open Meeting Law and Public Records Law. Mr. Wasden continues to travel around the state to promote open and transparent government at all levels and educate Idahoans on the state’s public records laws.

Attorney General Kwame Raoul was sworn in as the 42nd Attorney General of Illinois in January 2019. Raoul was born in Chicago to Haitian immigrants and brings a lifetime of legal and policy experience, advocacy, and public service to the Office of the Attorney General.

Attorney General Raoul earned his undergraduate degree from DePaul University and his juris doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law. He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, handling matters at the trial and appellate level in the criminal, civil and juvenile divisions of the office. He subsequently served as a Senior Staff Attorney for the City Colleges of Chicago, handling primarily labor and employment matters. Raoul has also been a partner at two national law firms, serving in the health care and labor and employment practice groups.

In 2004, Attorney General Raoul was appointed to serve as the state senator representing the 13th Legislative District, where he was subsequently re-elected on multiple occasions to represent the district over the last 14 years. In the Senate, Raoul served as chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, vice-chair of the Senate Criminal Law Committee and vice-chair of the Sentencing Policy Advisory Commission. As a senator, Raoul led negotiations and sponsored some of the most significant pieces of legislation that have become law over the past decade, including eliminating the death penalty, requiring background checks on private transfers of guns, law enforcement and criminal justice reform, workers’ compensation reform, and some of the strongest voting rights protections in the nation.

As a legislator and an attorney, Attorney General Raoul has been dedicated to working towards criminal justice reform in Illinois. In addition to spearheading the abolition of the death penalty, he sponsored numerous diversion and second-chance programs for non-violent offenders and expedited the process of record expungement for juveniles. He pushed through landmark law enforcement reform, including standards for police officer-worn body cameras and a statewide database of officers under investigation. Raoul also passed a comprehensive criminal justice reform package aimed at reducing gun violence by cracking down on repeat offenders while helping first-time violators find their way back into law-abiding society. Raoul has been recognized for his work on behalf of survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, which includes passage of the Safe Homes Act and the Sexual Assault Survivors’ Bill of Rights.

Among Attorney General Raoul’s many other achievements in the Senate were expanded opportunities for minority and women-owned financial services firms, legislation protecting student athletes from brain injury due to concussions, the Illinois Voting Rights Act and the addition of a voting rights protection amendment to the Illinois Constitution. He was a leader in expanding Illinois Medicaid eligibility under the Affordable Care Act and is known for his work in support of health care access.

A native of Elkhart, Indiana, Hill is the youngest of five children. He credits his parents Curtis Sr., and Eleanor as his inspiration toward public service and leadership. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business from Indiana University, Bloomington and later received his law degree from IU as well. It was during law school that he met his wife Teresa and together they are raising their five children: Halle, Mallory, Curtis III, Isabella and Abraham.

Hill began his legal career in the general private practice of law while serving as a part-time deputy prosecuting attorney in Elkhart County. In 2002, Hill ran for his first public office, winning the first of his four elections as prosecuting attorney with nearly 80 percent of the vote.

As the Elkhart County prosecuting attorney, Hill was relentless in his pursuit of justice. Known for his skill as a trial lawyer, Hill was also aggressive in reopening investigations of years old “cold cases” in order to achieve justice for victims.

* In 2004, Hill reopened a case from 1995 that had gone unprosecuted by a previous administration in which the body of 17-year-old of Jessica Zbras was found near Rock Run Creek in Goshen, Indiana. An autopsy determined the young woman died of strangulation/asphyxiation. Hill's efforts led to the 2005 murder conviction of Terrence Evans, who was 34 at the time Hill filed charges against him. Evans was sentenced to 65 years. His conviction was upheld on appeal.

* In 2005, Hill filed charges against Fred Mott in connection with the 1991 slaying of Kari Nunnemaker, who was 16 at the time of her death. The victim was abducted from her vehicle while stopped at train tracks in Elkhart, raped and then murdered by asphyxiation. Her unclothed body was dumped in a woods near a rural county park and discovered by a passer-by several days later. The investigation went cold for 14 years until Hill and Sheriff Books reopened the case and assigned it to the Indiana State Police Cold Case Unit. After DNA evidence was found to be consistent with Mott, Hill charged Mott with murder and had him extradited to Indiana from California where he was serving a life sentence for a series of rapes in that state. In 2008, the case went to trial, and Mott was convicted, sentenced in Indiana to 60 years, and returned to a California Prison.

* In 2013, Hill filed charges of rape, child molestation and criminal confinement against Robert Quinn in relation to a 1988 assault against a 10-year-old girl. The assailant abducted the girl from her Elkhart home while her parents were away, took her to a remote location and raped her multiple times causing serious physical and emotional injuries. The assailant then took the girl back to an area near her home and dropped her off. Hill reopened this case after the victim, by then in her 30s, contacted his office in 2011. Quinn was found guilty of all three charges and sentenced to 53 years. The convictions were upheld on appeal. As Elkhart County prosecutor, Hill also developed a reputation for combating organized criminal activity and the proliferation of illegal drugs. Working with local law enforcement, Hill created the Interdiction and Covert Enforcement (ICE) unit. The ICE unit has worked to eliminate drug traffic in Elkhart County. Hill took a vigorous approach to prosecuting drug trafficking organizations. He established a seized asset forfeiture program to financially cripple criminal organizations. Through the asset forfeiture program, criminal assets were seized by law enforcement then ordered forfeited by the court. The proceeds were then distributed back to law enforcement for reinvestment in crime fighting. Under Hill's leadership, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney successfully seized more than $2 million in criminal assets.

As a prosecutor, Hill testified before Congress on \"Methamphetamine in the Heartland\" and served as a presenter for the Northern Indiana Methamphetamine Summit, sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy, Executive Office of the President of the United States. Hill also served as a member of the Board of Governors for the Indiana State Bar Association; Governor's Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving (past chairman); Indiana Criminal Justice Institute (past trustee); and Board of Regents for the National College of District Attorneys.

Hill also has been a member of the Association of Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Inc. (past president); Indiana Prosecuting Attorney's Council (IPAC) Ethics Committee; National District Attorneys Association (former vice president); FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services Division Advisory Policy Board and State Board of Law Examiners Character and Fitness Committee. Hill also is a trustee of The Nature Conservancy Indiana Chapter and a life member of the NAACP.

In his hometown, Hill has served as a board member for the Elkhart County Historical Society; Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce; Boys and Girls Club of Elkhart County; and Encouraging Technology and Hands-On Science (ETHOS).

For the 2017-2018 term, Hill has been named the Vice Chair of the Midwest Region for the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG). He also serves as the Co-Chair of the Law Enforcement and Prosecutorial Relations Working Group, Co-Chair of the Civil Rights Committee and as a member of the Federalism and Preemption Committee for NAAG.

Protecting the public has always been one of Attorney General Miller's top priorities. The Attorney General's office continues its strong record handling many of the state's most important and difficult criminal prosecutions and arguing all of the state's criminal appeals before the Iowa Supreme Court and Iowa Court of Appeals. Mr. Miller and his office also have focused on fighting juvenile crime and working for improvements in the juvenile justice system. The office also provides extensive assistance to victims of crime, including crime victim compensation and support for local programs that aid victims.

Protecting consumers is also one of Mr. Miller's highest priorities. The Consumer Protection Division in his office has helped hundreds of of thousands of Iowans with complaints about wide-ranging topics, including improper debt collection practices, telemarketing fraud and abuse, charity fraud, predatory lending, mortgage, and vehicle complaints. His office's undercover telephone lines have helped reduce telemarketing crimes that cheat older Iowans and people all over the nation. Attorney General Miller has led major multistate investigations and settlements that resulted in millions of dollars in consumer relief to Iowans, and changes to the mortgage servicing industry and subprime lenders.

Working for farmers has always been a mission for Mr. Miller, who established the nation's first farm division in an attorney general's office when he took office in 1978. The Farm Division has led the way in successful cases against agricultural chemical companies, helped hundreds of farmers get a fair shake from a huge pipeline project cutting across their farmland, led a group of states insisting on compensation to farmers and elevators who suffer losses resulting from StarLink genetically modified corn, and pushed for laws to protect farmers who enter contracts with large agribusinesses.

Attorney General Miller is known for his longtime fight on behalf of kids and taxpayers with his campaign to reduce the enormous death toll and financial costs of tobacco addiction and disease. He was a leader in the multistate settlement agreement that resulted in the tobacco industry paying billions of dollars to the states and changing the way it conducts business. Now Attorney General Miller is working to reduce youth addiction and the thousands of Iowans who die every year from tobacco-related disease.

Mr. Miller has a long record of achieving results through cooperation with other state attorneys general and with local, state and federal officials, regardless of their political affiliation. He has led the successful efforts to strengthen Kansas law against human trafficking, to toughen penalties for defrauding senior citizens and for stealing from taxpayers, to build a modern forensic science laboratory for the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, to strengthen consumer-privacy laws, and to improve investigation of crimes against children.

Schmidt has been honored with the Criminal Justice Professional of the Year Award from the Wichita Crime Commission, the Friend of Law Enforcement Award from the Kansas Sheriffs Association, the Policy Maker of the Year Award from the Kansas County and District Attorneys Association, and the Guardian of Small Business Award from the Kansas chapter of the National Federation of Independent Businesses. He served as the 2017-2018 president of the National Association of Attorneys General.

Before being elected attorney general, Schmidt served as a Kansas State Senator representing part of Southeast Kansas, as chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and as the Senate Majority Leader. He previously served as counsel to Kansas Governor Bill Graves, legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Nancy Landon Kassebaum, and as an assistant attorney general for consumer protection.

Attorney General Schmidt is a graduate of Independence High School and studied at Independence Community College. He earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kansas, his master's degree in international politics from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, and his doctorate in law from the University of Kansas School of Law.

Cameron grew up in Elizabethtown, graduating from John Hardin High School. He attended the University of Louisville, where he played football, and the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. After graduation, he completed a federal judicial clerkship. Since 2017, Cameron practiced law in Frost Brown Todd’s Louisville office. He lives in Audubon Park in Louisville.

One of four children raised in a middle class, St. Martinville family - General Landry grew up through Louisiana’s oil bust - teaching him personally the effects that a bad economy can have on a family, particularly in a small town.

As a veteran, General Landry faithfully upheld the oath to protect our civil liberties while keeping our communities safe.

General Landry served as an aide in the Louisiana State Senate, where he learned firsthand that many solutions to our problems can be found from listening to the voices of the people not just from listening to the debate of politicians.

As a young entrepreneur, General Landry and a friend started an oil and gas environmental service company. Recognized for his success in business, he was selected to serve as the Executive Director of the St. Martin Parish Economic Development Authority. As director, General Landry was instrumental in recruiting a Fortune 500 company to the Parish. By leveraging local resources, he helped to create thousands of jobs and to spur the economic energy corridor on Louisiana’s Highway 90.

Understanding the importance of a quality education, General Landry at a later age went back to school - Law School, starting part-time at Southern University then finishing his law degree at Loyola University.

Upon earning his juris doctorate, General Landry returned to Acadiana - where as a business attorney in Lafayette, he spent his days in the legal trenches helping employers create jobs. Utilizing his background in economic development, General Landry helped small and large businesses navigate the complexities of our legal environment. He has argued cases in front of judges in South Louisiana.

In 2010, General Landry was elected to the United States House of Representatives. As one of Louisiana’s Congressmen - General Landry became known as a ferocious advocate of the Constitution, a leader on national energy policy emphasizing increased domestic oil and gas production, an activist for conservative family values, and a promoter of true reductions in wasteful government spending.

General Landry is a veteran of Desert Storm and left the military with the rank of Sergeant. He received the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, a National Defense Ribbon, an Overseas Training Ribbon and the Louisiana War Cross from his eleven years of service as a member of the Louisiana National Guard.

Under Brian's leadership, Maryland became the first state in the nation to issue guidance prohibiting discriminatory profiling by law-enforcement. The Attorney General's guidance declares definitively that race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability and religion cannot be factors in routine police activity.

Brian is focused on safeguarding vulnerable populations, including nursing home residents, people with disabilities, victims of lead-paint poisoning, low wage earners and members of minority groups who can be subjects of abuse. He is investigating and prosecuting wrongdoing at all levels involving these and other groups.

He is working to promote economic justice by challenging the marketing and debt-collection practices of banks, credit card companies, for-profit colleges and other businesses that prey on working-class families. He has shut down sham charities, obtained relief for thousands of Marylanders who had been subjected to wrongful credit card collection practices by a major bank, and wiped out the debt of more than 1,000 students at an online university which used deceptive marketing practices.

Under the Attorney General, Maryland has cemented its environmental leadership position by taking part in a national fight to control greenhouse gases from power plants and upwind pollution from neighboring states.

Continuing the Office's long tradition as an advocate for civil rights, the Office of the Attorney General authored an important analysis on the state of marriage equality across the country that was prominently cited in the 2015 U.S. Supreme Court decision which legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.

Brian has worked for greater public safety in a variety of ways, from effective joint prosecutions of dangerous criminals to strengthening Maryland's heroin trafficking efforts by expanding the range of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Heroin Task Force. In a first-of-its-kind effort, he has linked local prosecutors across the state through an initiative that leverages resources in the Office of the Attorney General to tackle complex multi-jurisdictional and multi-defendant cases in organized crime, crimes of exploitation, environmental degradation and fraud and corruption.

As the chief legal officer for the State of Maryland, Brian provides thoughtful counsel to the executive, legislative and judicial branches of government in all legal matters.

Prior to his current office, he served in the Maryland General Assembly for 28 years, including 12 as chairman of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee, where he led the effort to pass gun safety legislation that has been called some of the toughest and most effective in the nation. He also increased protections for victims of domestic violence and expanded the state's DNA database to help police catch criminals.

As one of the leading environmentalists in Maryland, he authored a ban on drilling for oil and gas in the Chesapeake Bay as well as the Maryland Recycling Act, and fought to hold utility companies accountable for poor service and unreasonable rate hikes.

Brian has received awards from the Sierra Club, American Lung Association, Maryland State Bar Association and the Maryland League of Conservation Voters. He was recognized by the Daily Record in 2010 with the Leadership in Law Award and was honored by his Senate peers with the First Citizen Award, presented to Marylanders who have been dedicated and effective participants in the process of making government work for the benefit of all.

Maura Healey was sworn in as Attorney General on January 21, 2015, pledging to lead the People’s Law Firm.

Since taking office, Healey has tackled issues touching the lives of residents across Massachusetts including the heroin and prescription drug abuse epidemic, escalating health care costs, workers' rights and student loan costs. She has focused on strengthening consumer protections and on improving our criminal justice system.

Building on her promise to run an office that serves people across the state, Healey launched the Community Engagement Division in May 2015. The first-of-its-kind division brings the Attorney General’s Office and its work into neighborhoods and communities across the state. The Division has launched community office hours and has assisted with the rollout of several policy initiatives including the Earned Sick Time law and Domestic Workers’ Bill of Rights.

Healey is an advocate for a more equal and inclusive workplace. In May 2015, she announced that her office would provide six weeks of paid family leave for all employees – making the AG’s Office the first state agency to offer paid parental leave. The office has also helped shaped state legislation that would expand opportunities for women in the workplace including Pay Equity and Pregnant Workers Fairness bills.

As a civil rights attorney, Healey is committed to ensuring that all residents are treated fairly. As former head of the office’s Civil Rights Division, Healey was the architect of the state’s successful challenge to the federal Defense of Marriage Act and argued the case in federal court. As Attorney General, she has advocated for marriage equality and in support of bills to fight discrimination against transgender people. Prior to her election, Healey helped lead the Attorney General’s Office as head of the Civil Rights Division and as Chief of the Public Protection and Business & Labor Bureaus.

In those roles, she helped defend the Massachusetts buffer zone law, which protected women from being harassed at reproductive health care centers. She also shut down predatory lenders that were wreaking havoc on Massachusetts communities and oversaw a team that has worked with homeowners to help make their loans affordable. The program has gotten banks to modify thousands of home mortgages and stop hundreds of foreclosures.

Healey grew up the oldest of five brothers and sisters in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. Her mother worked as a school nurse, her father was a captain in the military and a civil engineer, and her stepfather taught history and coached high school sports. Her family roots are in Newburyport and along the North Shore, where her grandfathers worked at the post office and in the General Electric factory. From her family, she learned values of hard work, discipline, and the importance of taking care of others.

Healey graduated from Harvard College in 1992 and was captain of the women's basketball team. She played professional basketball in Europe before returning to Massachusetts to attend Northeastern University School of Law. She was inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006.

Early in her career, Healey clerked for Judge David Mazzone in the United States District Court in Massachusetts. Prior to joining the Attorney General’s Office, Healey was a junior partner at the international law firm Wilmer Hale (formerly Hale and Dorr), where she represented clients in the financial services, pharmaceutical, medical device, software, energy, biotechnology and professional sports sectors. She is a former Special Assistant District Attorney in Middlesex County, where she tried drug, assault, domestic violence and motor vehicle cases.

As Attorney General, Eric is focused on keeping Missouri families safe and upholding the rule of law. As the lawyer for all six million Missourians, Eric is fighting each and every day to protect opportunities for the next generation.

Eric’s roots in Missouri run deep, stretching through six generations of farmers, teachers and small businesspeople who have lived and worked in the Missouri cities of Tipton, Pilot Grove, Louisiana and St. Louis.

Eric’s grandfather served in the 7th Army during World War II and saw major combat as an infantryman. After the war, he returned to Missouri to start a small butcher shop, where Eric’s father would later work. His father worked his way through night school to provide for his family while earning a diploma. Eric watched his father work 7 days a week on the midnight shift to provide a better life for his family, an experience that taught him the value of a strong work ethic.

Eric attended DeSmet Jesuit High School and went on to graduate cum laude from Truman State University, where he founded a Habitat for Humanity chapter. After graduation, he attended law school at Saint Louis University where he received his J.D. and served as an editor of the Law Review.

He was inspired to enter public service to be a voice for his son, Stephen, who was born with a rare genetic condition (tuberous sclerosis) causing tumors on his organs. Stephen also has epilepsy, is on the autism spectrum, and is non-verbal.

Eric’s record of accomplishments serves as a reflection of his values and leadership. During his time as an Alderman for the city of Glendale and his two terms in the Missouri State Senate, serving as one of the youngest members ever elected to the upper chamber he worked to cut taxes for working families, improve educational opportunities for Missouri children, and advocate for those with special needs.

During his time as Missouri State Senator, Eric passed Senate Bill 5, a landmark piece of legislation which addressed the broken municipal court system that was taking advantage of Missouri citizens. As Attorney General, Eric now is charged with enforcing the law which he implemented.

Eric previously served as the 46th Treasurer of the State of Missouri. As Treasurer, Eric launched the MO ABLE program to help Missourians with disabilities save for long-term needs. He also supported small business owners by cutting unnecessary and burdensome regulations. He expanded eligibility of Missouri Education Savings Plan to include K-12 education and fought for greater government transparency by launching ShowMeCheckbook.com.

Now as Missouri Attorney General, Eric has launched multiple major initiatives to better the lives of Missourians across the state. In his first month in office, Eric launched his Safer Streets Initiative, featuring unprecedented cooperation between the U.S Attorney’s Office and the Attorney General’s Office, to reduce violent crime rates across the state, taking action to ensure families are protected.

Eric has also been committed to tackling the opioid crisis and launched the Real Opioid Pain initiative to hear from Missouri citizens who have been impacted by this crisis. To address the backlog of untested sexual assault kits, Eric launched the SAFE Kit initiative to bring justice for the brave individuals who came forward to tell their stories.

Tim Fox was born in 1957 as the fifth and last child of a hard-working Hardin, Montana, family. Like many kids in small agricultural communities, Tim began working at a young age, and soon developed a strong work ethic thanks in part to the Depression-era work ethic of his parents, Rich and Roberta Fox.

He attended Hardin public schools and graduated from Hardin High School. Tim is a three-time graduate from the University of Montana, with degrees in geology (1981), law (1987), and most recently, a Master’s in Public Administration (2018). A standout athlete in high school and college, and an amateur athlete after college, Tim knows how to set and achieve goals, how to lead, and how to be a team player.

After serving as a law clerk to Associate Justice L.C. Gulbrandson of the Montana Supreme Court, Tim began practicing law with the Billings, Montana law firm of Moulton, Bellingham & Longo in 1988. He first entered public service in 1990 when recruited to develop a new environmental regulatory program for the Montana Board of Oil and Gas Conservation. After three years as a State of Montana employee, he established a solo law firm in Billings, where he served as a contract public defender for the City of Billings practicing criminal law in addition to maintaining a civil law practice.

Tim and his family moved to Helena, Montana in 1995 to assist then Governor Marc Racicot in his bid for reelection. Shortly after arriving in Helena, he went to work for the Montana Department of Environmental Quality as a Special Assistant Attorney General. In 1998, Tim was promoted to a Division Administrator management position with the DEQ where he managed people, programs, and budgets for the people of Montana. In 1999, Tim was hired as Vice-President and Legal Counsel for a Helena-based national bank, Mountain West Bank. He served in that position for over four years before re-entering private practice with the law firm of Gough, Shanahan, Johnson and Waterman, PLLP.

Montanans elected Tim as the state’s 24th attorney general on November 6, 2012, and he was was sworn January 7, 2013. He was reelected to a second four-year term on November 8, 2016 with a 36 percent margin of victory. As attorney general, Tim leads the Montana Department of Justice and its nearly 800 dedicated public servants.

In his 30 years of experience as a Montana attorney, Tim has litigated numerous complex cases for individual Montanans and Montana businesses. Like many dedicated attorneys, Tim has devoted considerable time to providing pro bono legal services to Montanans who cannot afford an attorney, and to charitable and faith-based organizations. In one case, Tim helped the Alliance Defense Fund defend an East Helena Baptist church and its Pastor when the Montana Commissioner of Political Practices prosecuted the Church and its Pastor for speaking about Biblical truth from the pulpit. That case went all the way up to the United States Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals where the Church and Pastor’s First Amendment Rights were vindicated. In another Constitutional rights case, Tim represented the Goldwater Institute in fighting the Federal Government’s efforts to invalidate one of Montana’s gun rights laws. Tim is a staunch advocate of our right to keep and bear arms under the Montana and United States Constitution. As a business, real estate, constitutional, environmental, and commercial law attorney, Tim knows and understands the challenges that large and small Montana businesses face in a competitive market with layers of government regulations and taxes.

Growing up, Tim and his brothers learned that service to others, particularly the disadvantaged and the disenfranchised, was both gratifying and necessary to the success of democracy in America. Through the years, Tim has served in leadership positions on the board of directors of low-income and disabled housing projects in Billings, two Montana symphony orchestras (Billings and Helena), a faith-based private K-12 school, the Carroll College Saints Athletic Association, and the Florence Crittenton Home, among other charitable and faith-based organizations. Tim was also appointed by Governor Marc Racicot to serve on the board of directors of the Montana Historical Society, and by Governor Judy Martz to serve on the Montana State Banking Board. As a member of the Board of Delegates of the University of Montana Alumni Association, Tim strives to improve the quality of Montana’s secondary education institutions. Tim also donates his time, money, and travel expenses to college athletic programs throughout the Northwest as a nationally-certified track and field official, and coaches track & field at Helena’s Carroll College. Tim is dedicated to improving the lives of young people throughout Montana by investing his time, talent, and energy in many youth programs.

The Director's Office is made up of the Department Director; the Office of Legal Affairs; the Human Resources Office; the Prevention Resource Center, Office of Governmental Support; and the Public Information Office.

Rawlinson of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He spent many years in private practice as a Partner at Snell & Wilmer, LLP and later as Partner at Eglet Adams in Las Vegas.

Throughout AG Ford's career, he has always made time to give back to his community. Among his many community accolades, he has served on the Clark County Justice of the Peace Selection Committee and recognized as a Mountain States' \"Super Lawyer\" and \"Rising Star in Law\". AG Ford is a former Board Member of the I Have a Dream Foundation, Olive Crest of Nevada, and Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada. In addition, he coached soccer, basketball, and t-ball.

Governor Philip D. Murphy announced his intention to nominate Gurbir S. Grewal to serve as New Jersey’s 61st Attorney General on December 12, 2017. He was confirmed by the New Jersey Senate and assumed the office on January 16, 2018.

Since assuming office, Attorney General Grewal has focused his attention on protecting the interests of New Jersey residents by expanding affirmative litigation, strengthening police-community relations, reducing violent crime and fighting the opioid epidemic.

Before becoming New Jersey Attorney General, Grewal served as Bergen County Prosecutor, the chief law enforcement officer of the most populous county in New Jersey and home to nearly 1 million residents living in 70 municipalities. As Bergen County Prosecutor, Grewal supervised a staff of 265 personnel and had supervisory authority over approximately 2,700 sworn law enforcement officers across 74 law enforcement agencies. Among other accomplishments during his tenure, he developed and implemented several creative approaches designed to tackle the heroin and opioid crisis, including “Operation Helping Hand,” a program that offers low-level drug offenders treatment options upon arrest. He also established a Community Affairs Unit, which is dedicated to assisting local departments improve police/community relations.

From 2010 to 2016, Grewal worked as an Assistant United States Attorney (“AUSA”) in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey, where he served as Chief of the Economic Crimes Unit from 2014 to 2016 and oversaw the investigation and prosecution of all major white collar and cybercrimes in the District of New Jersey. He was the lead prosecutor in United States v. Drinkman, et al., the largest known data breach prosecution in which the conspirators participated in a worldwide scheme that targeted major corporate networks and stole more than 160 million credit card numbers, causing hundreds of millions of dollars in losses. He was also the lead prosecutor in United States v. Weinstein, et al., a $200 million Ponzi scheme in which the lead defendant was sentenced to 24 years’ imprisonment.

Before becoming a federal prosecutor in New Jersey, Grewal also served as an AUSA in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York from 2004 to 2007, where he was ultimately assigned to the Business and Securities Fraud Unit. As an AUSA in the Eastern District of New York, he investigated and prosecuted a wide range of narcotics offenses, white collar crimes, and terrorism cases. His significant matters included the successful prosecution of 12 men charged with providing material support to the Tamil Tigers terrorist organization.

In addition to his work as a federal prosecutor, Grewal has also worked in private practice, including at Howrey LLP (from 1999 to 2004 in Washington, D.C., and from 2008 to 2010 in New York, NY). While at Howrey LLP, he counseled clients on a range of matters including securities, trademark, antitrust and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues; represented individuals and companies in government investigations and criminal proceedings; conducted internal investigations for public corporations; and conducted civil trials.

Attorney General Grewal graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in 1995. He obtained his law degree from the College of William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law in 1999.

As Attorney General, Balderas transformed the Special Prosecutions Division, Special Investigations Division, New Mexico Human Trafficking Task Force, and expanded the New Mexico Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in a successful effort to combat the most dangerous offenders, violent sexual predators, and corrupt politicians. Balderas has secured convictions for victims of unspeakable acts of sexual and other violence around the state, and secured the first state level conviction of a statewide elected official and another against a former legislator. Balderas’ Criminal Appeals Division has also obtained several landmark Supreme Court opinions that have kept New Mexico’s most violent criminals in prison.

Attorney General Balderas has achieved unprecedented victories for New Mexicans in civil courts by securing the largest Tobacco Settlement payment in state history and tens of millions of dollars in settlements from large corporations for preying on New Mexicans. Balderas is also aggressively litigating against the opioid industry and made New Mexico the first state to sue opioid distributors, in addition to manufacturers, for inundating New Mexico with highly addictive opioids that have devastated the state for decades.

After law school Hector became a Bernalillo County Assistant District Attorney, was elected to a seat in the New Mexico House of Representatives at age 29, and then served two terms as New Mexico’s State Auditor. As State Auditor, Balderas had oversight of $60 billion in assets collectively held by over 1,000 government entities in New Mexico. He immediately pursued an aggressive agenda designed to protect taxpayer funds and hold government agencies accountable. During his time as State Auditor, Hector’s effort to target corruption yielded historic results. His special audits and investigations exposed rampant financial mismanagement of taxpayer funds throughout many government agencies and schools.

Letitia “Tish” James is the 67th Attorney General for the State of New York. With decades of work, she is an experienced attorney and public servant with a long record of accomplishments. She is the first woman of color to hold statewide office in New York and the first woman to be elected Attorney General.

In 2013, Ms. James was elected Public Advocate for the City of New York and became the first woman of color to hold citywide office. As Public Advocate, Ms. James served as a watchdog over New York City government agencies and as an advocate for the City’s most vulnerable communities. She transformed the Public Advocate’s office to be a formidable engine for change.

Her office handled over 32,000 constituent complaints and passed more legislation than all previous Public Advocates combined, including a groundbreaking law that banned questions about salary history from the employment process to address the pervasive gender wage gap. Ms. James successfully took on the gun industry by pushing New York City’s largest pension fund to divest from gun and ammunition retailers. She fought in court on behalf of children and families on issues including children in foster care, children with disabilities, and tenant protection. New Yorkers overwhelmingly elected Tish James to a second term as Public Advocate in November 2017.

Prior to serving as Public Advocate, Tish James represented the 35th Council District in Brooklyn in the New York City Council for ten years. As a Council Member, she passed the Safe Housing Act, legislation that forced landlords to improve living conditions for tenants in New York City’s worst buildings. She helped uncover the corruption behind the Office of Payroll Administration’s CityTime contract, a scheme that cost New York City over $600 million. She also pushed through a revolutionary recycling package that included expanding plastic recycling, a new clothing and textile recycling program, and increased access to recycling in public spaces.

Before her election to the City Council, Tish James served as head of the Brooklyn Regional Office of the New York State Attorney General’s Office. She resolved hundreds of consumer complaints and investigated predatory lenders who preyed on first-time homebuyers. She assisted the Civil Rights Bureau in its investigation of the NYPD’s stop-and-frisk policy and cracked down on firms engaged in deceptive business practices including violations of human rights, environmental laws, and scams targeting immigrants.

Prior to being elected, Stein served as a state Senator and as a Senior Deputy Attorney General in the North Carolina Department of Justice. In the State Senate, he successfully led efforts to put more violent criminals behind bars by expanding the state’s DNA database. He also wrote the School Safety Act and legislation that banned stalking using GPS tracking devices. As Senior Deputy Attorney General, Stein worked to protect kids from online sexual predators and to help run the payday lenders charging loan shark interest rates out of the state.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem was born in Mohall, North Dakota. He graduated from the University of North Dakota and received his law degree from the UND School of Law in 1977. He is married to Beth Bakke Stenehjem and has a son, Andrew.

Stenehjem was elected to the North Dakota House of Representatives in 1976, serving for two terms until his election to the ND Senate in 1980. He served for twenty years in the Senate until his election to the Office of Attorney General. Stenehjem served on the Judiciary Committee throughout his tenure in the Legislature, and was Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee from 1995-2000. He was elected President Pro Tempore of the Senate for the 1999 Legislative Session.

In January 2001, Stenehjem was sworn in as the State’s 29th Attorney General. He was reelected in 2004, 2006, 2010, 2014, and again in 2018. Stenehjem is the longest serving Attorney General in North Dakota history.

Wayne is the recipient of “Champion of the People’s Right to Know” award; SBAND Legislative Service Award; the 2005 North Dakota Peace Officer’s Association’s Lone Eagle Award, was inducted into the Scandinavian American Hall of Fame in 2007, and was named the 2011 Bismarck State College Alumnus of the Year and the Bismarck High School Hall of Fame. An Eagle Scout since 1968, Attorney General Stenehjem was honored with the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award in 2013.

Mike Hunter was elected as Oklahoma’s eighteenth attorney general on November 6, 2018.

As attorney general, he has made the safety and security of all Oklahomans one of his top priorities.

Determined to end the state’s opioid overdose and addiction epidemic, his office has taken a multidisciplinary approach to solving the problem.

Shortly after taking office, he formed the Oklahoma Commission on Opioid Abuse. The commission brought all stakeholders to the table and saw seven pieces of legislation become law in 2018. The laws give more tools to law enforcement personnel, prevents the diversion of opioid prescriptions from flooding the market and holds distributors, manufacturers and businesses accountable through proper oversight.

Hunter has also filed a lawsuit on the nation’s leading opioid manufacturers for waging a more than decade-long fraudulent marketing campaign that has profited from the anguish of Oklahomans, who have become addicted or died because of the crisis.

Oklahoma’s lawsuit to hold opioid manufacturers was the first to go to trial out of the more than 2,000 other lawsuits filed around the nation. The historic trial lasted nearly eight weeks and Hunter and his team secured a major victory for the state, as the evidence convinced the judge to rule in the state's favor, holding Johnson & Johnson accountable and requiring the company to abate the ongoing opioid epidemic in Oklahoma.

The judge’s ruling is the first of its kind in the country to find an opioid manufacturer liable for the harm caused from the opioid crisis in the United States.

Prior to the trial, two defendants settled with the state for a combined $355 million. The bulk of the money will go to the OSU Center for Wellness & Recovery to create an endowment at the university, which will go toward treating the ongoing addiction epidemic nationwide. The remainder of the funds will go to abating the epidemic.

He is also prosecuting the minority within the minority of doctors who over prescribe, use their prescribing authority unlawfully or run pill mills.

Through the consumer protection unit, Hunter’s office has successfully prosecuted scam artists, shutting down their illicit enterprises.

At the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Hunter’s office represents rate payers and ensures Oklahomans aren’t paying more than what is necessary for utility services. Since he has been in office, his team has secured several settlement agreements with electric companies that have returned money to ratepayers or have held them harmless.

In 2018, the attorney general and his team secured a historic $64 million rate reduction settlement agreement for OG&E customers, resulting in lower utility bills. The settlement agreement represented the largest rate reduction ever for an Oklahoma energy utility.

Hunter also continues upholding the values most important to Oklahomans by defending First Amendment rights and protecting religious liberties.

Whether it was when a Washington, D.C. based special interest demanded East Central University remove a cross from the campus chapel. Hunter drew a hard line – rejecting the demands to remove the cross and religious materials, saying the state has no desire to negotiate with the group in the matter. Since his office stepped in, the state has yet to hear back from the group.

Or, more recently, when he provided clarity on the state’s Religious Freedom Act to a school board, which ultimately allowed Cherokee students to engage in the spiritual practice of wearing eagle feathers to their graduation ceremonies.

Hunter consistently advocates for and remains committed to defending industries vital to the state’s economy and is unapologetic and uncompromising when pushing back on burdensome overreach and unnecessary regulations.

Hunter stood up for the rights of the state’s property owners by pushing back on the illegal WOTUS rule. A move where The Oklahoman’s editorial board gave Hunter credit for his swift response.

With a coalition of 14 other attorneys general, Hunter and his colleagues were successful in helping get a federal judge to dismiss a baseless lawsuit filed by two left-wing California cities that targeted numerous energy and manufacturing companies. The lawsuit sought millions from the companies for ‘creating a public nuisance.'

He has held numerous positions within state government, including secretary of state for two governors, secretary of the Commissioners of the Land Office, general counsel at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission and served a six-year term in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

On the federal level, Hunter worked as chief of staff to former Congressman J.C. Watts. He also worked as legal Counsel to Watts during his time on the National Security and Transportation and Infrastructure Committees in Congress.

In the private sector, Hunter began his career focusing on energy and real estate law. He also worked as chief operating officer of the American Bankers Association, in Washington, D.C., which represents banks of all sizes and is the champion for the nation’s $13 trillion banking industry and its 2 million employees.

Hunter received his law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University, making him the state’s first attorney general to receive an undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State.
