Hillary Campbell is an experienced litigator handling business and commercial litigation, as well as general litigation matters. A significant portion of Hillary’s practice is devoted to representing clients in products liability litigation where she has represented manufacturers of products ranging from tires to medical devices to consumer products. Her business litigation practice is just as varied and has involved representing businesses and individuals in cases involving allegations of fraud and civil conspiracy, as well as in business tort and contract dispute matters. Hillary’s practice is national in scope, and she has worked with clients on national litigation portfolios, as well as in multidistrict litigation (MDLs) and coordinated proceeding matters.
Hillary devotes substantial time to advising businesses and individuals regarding the enforceability of restrictive covenants in numerous states and litigating those matters when necessary. Hillary is familiar with the legal nuances and complexities regarding restrictive covenants and unfair competition. She also understands the significant pressures of fast-paced litigation and has the experience to execute timely (or defend against) injunctive relief, which can alter significantly the course of litigation. Hillary represents both plaintiffs and defendants. Her experience on both sides of the “v.” has provided her with a unique understanding of what is at stake and allows her to give clients a comprehensive view of their rights, options, limitations, and resolution strategies.
Hillary understands that every case is unique and when faced with litigation, her clients must consider and balance their business objectives and the costs of litigation, as well as any potential exposure. She works with her clients to tailor their strategy in each case accordingly, whether that means resolving a case before trial or trying the case to verdict. From start to completion, Hillary is experienced in all stages of litigation in both federal and state courts. Whether it is a single litigation matter or coordinated proceeding matters, Hillary has experience managing discovery, deposing lay and expert witnesses, drafting and arguing dispositive and other motions, negotiating settlements, and trying cases.
