Shane Clanton serves as counsel in the firm’s Banking and Financial Services Practice Group.
Prior to joining Bradley, Shane served as senior deputy general counsel for PNC, general counsel for BBVA USA and chief legal officer for BBVA’s U.S. operations. In those roles, he provided legal advice to counsel in all areas of the company, including regulatory and corporate governance matters, significant complex and class action litigation, and government enforcement-related issues, as well as providing oversight for all U.S. legal matters for other BBVA Group entities in the U.S. In addition, Shane successfully guided BBVA through its merger and integration with PNC, creating one of the largest banks based in the United States, including serving as chief executive officer of BBVA USA during the transition. Prior to joining BBVA, Shane began his legal career at a Southeastern regional law firm in Atlanta, where he concentrated his practice on various types of commercial litigation.
Shane personally counsels clients and C-suite leadership concerning high-stakes litigation risks, corporate governance issues, and compliance-related matters. He also provides advice to banks and their leadership in navigating the sale, acquisition, and merger process for financial institutions.
