Jennifer Morrison Ersin, FCIArb, focuses her practice in international disputes. She advises clients in international investment and commercial arbitrations across a range of sectors. She has acted in proceedings governed by the rules of arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Jennifer has acted in all aspects of international arbitration matters including appointment of the tribunal, pleading the case and appearing at dozens of international arbitration hearings. She has succeeded in claims valued at more than $1 billion. She routinely represents clients in arbitrations involving claims arising from construction, energy, and agribusiness projects with a broad range of amounts in dispute.
Jennifer has particular experience in acting in disputes involving sovereign states. She has most recently represented contractors against sovereign employers including Libya, Ethiopia, and the United States. This experience includes representing parties in investor state disputes and counseling contractors on how to best exit conflict zones, including Libya, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.
Her experience also includes advising clients on federal government construction contracts disputes and disputes arising from municipal infrastructure projects.
Jennifer is also adept at handling matters before U.S. courts, particularly where those matters include an international element or a foreign party.
