Shelby Parks is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Shelby was a law clerk for the Hon. Leslie H. Southwick of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. She also worked as a summer judicial extern for the Hon. Terry Doughty of the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana.
Shelby received her J.D. (summa cum laude) from Mississippi College School of Law, where she served as the chair of the Moot Court Board and as a staff editor for the Law Review. While at MC Law, she worked as a teaching assistant for Prof. Christoph Henkel and Dean Deborah Challener, where she mentored and tutored law students in both Contracts and Civil Procedure. Shelby also served as a writing fellow for Profs. David Parker and Amber Stewart, during which she assisted in editing and drafting fact patterns and appellate briefs for the Legal Analysis and Writing courses.
Shelby has a B.A. (summa cum laude) in Political Science from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. While at ULM, she was a member of the ULM Honors Program and served as a peer leader from 2018 to 2019, where she welcomed and mentored incoming freshmen. She also served as team captain of ULM’s Mock Trial team from 2017 to 2020 and led the team to Nationals all three years.
