Butler Sparks is a partner in Bradley’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group, where he routinely advises privately held companies, publicly traded companies and institutional investors in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations and general corporate matters. Butler additionally advises private fund sponsors in fund formation, capital raising and compliance matters.
His experience involves numerous cross-border and domestic transactions spanning a broad range of industries, including software, field services, manufacturing and distribution, construction, telecommunications and fintech. Butler counsels clients through all stages of their businesses’ life cycle, from initial capital raising to acquisitions and exits. He additionally serves as outside general counsel to a number of family-owned businesses, in addition to the portfolio companies of private equity funds, family offices and venture capital funds.
Butler graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the editorial board of the Virginia Law Review and on the managing board of the Virginia Law and Business Review. He also earned a B.B.A. in Business Economics and Finance (summa cum laude) from Mississippi State University.
