Maddie Spearman is an associate in Bradley’s Healthcare Practice Group and a member of the firm’s Long Term Care and Senior Housing team.

Maddie regularly represents clients in a variety of regulatory, operational, and transactional matters related to senior living communities. Maddie’s experience spans the full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing.

Her practice involves assisting clients with securing and maintaining facility licensure (whether de novo or as a result of a change of ownership), navigating Medicare and Medicaid enrollment and certification, and maintaining compliance with dynamic federal and state laws and regulations applicable to senior living communities. She also assists clients with preparing purchase and sale agreements, operations transfer agreements, and management service agreements, completing buyer and lender regulatory due diligence efforts, and preparing and finalizing closing documents for various transactions involving senior living communities.

Maddie also has extensive experience advising clients on matters unique to tax-exempt healthcare organizations, including applying for and maintaining tax-exempt status, forming supporting and supported organizations, obtaining tax-exempt bond financing, and addressing various nonprofit corporate formation and governance issues.

Maddie attended the University of Texas School of Law, where she focused on health law and policy, entrepreneurship, and nonprofits. Prior to law school, she worked as a health benefits consultant for a healthcare navigation company in Dallas, Texas.
