Adriante Carter is an associate in the firm’s Healthcare Practice Group. Her practice focuses on providing counsel and advising healthcare providers on various regulatory matters concerning health information privacy and cybersecurity matters and data breach response. She has considerable experience relating to HIPAA and other state and federal privacy laws. Her experience also includes drafting consumer-facing privacy policies and internal privacy and security policies and procedures. Adriante also advises clients on clinical research matters, including the intersection of health information privacy and research, drafting clinical trial agreements, and research relationships with academic medical centers (AMCs).
She also has experience assisting with the licensure in complex mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures of healthcare providers, including ambulatory surgery centers and hospitals. Adriante has experience advising clients on various federal and state licensing laws, including Medicare and Medicaid enrollment issues and changes of ownership. Adriante also has extensive experience advising clients on conversion of a hospital into a rural emergency hospital (REH).
Adriante is member of the Bradley Lawyers of Color Resource Group and serves as a liaison for the Women’s (Winn) Initiative.
Adriante received her J.D. from the University of Florida Levin College of Law (magna cum laude), where she served as a research assistant for multiple professors and as the Executive Acquisitions editor for the University of FloridaJournal of Law & Public Policy. She earned a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy (summa cum laude) from Delaware State University and was a Legislative Fellow for the Delaware General Assembly.
